Gregory Armstrong

Gregory Armstrong is the founder and Director of Armstrong Attorneys Inc. He holds an LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg and was admitted and enrolled as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa on 22 May 2012. He obtained the right of appearance in the High Court in 2016.

Gregory concluded his articles of clerkship at the firm where he commenced his legal career. After remaining with the practice following his admission, he became its youngest partner approximately two years after entering practice. He subsequently served as a Director at a prominent medium-sized law firm from 2017 until 2026, before establishing Armstrong Attorneys Inc. in 2026.

He provides strategic legal advice and representation to companies, business owners, executives and individuals across labour and employment law, commercial and civil litigation, dispute resolution and related areas of practice.

Gregory has extensive litigation and dispute-resolution experience and has represented clients in matters before the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal and High Court divisions throughout South Africa, as well as the Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, Magistrates’ Courts, CCMA and bargaining councils.

Gregory has acted for a broad range of corporate and private clients and has also represented two former executive mayors for major metropolitan municipalities in South Africa in various legal matters.

His approach is direct and practical: understand the client’s objective, identify the legal and commercial risks early, and pursue the most effective route to resolution. Where a negotiated outcome is appropriate, he seeks to resolve the matter commercially. Where litigation is necessary, he provides determined representation through to final resolution.

Gregory is in good standing with the Legal Practice Council and holds a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate.

Our Approach

Every matter begins with a clear assessment of the facts, the law, the evidence and the client’s objectives. We identify risk early, communicate practical options and pursue the most effective route to resolution. Where settlement is sensible, we negotiate from a position of strength. Where litigation is necessary, we act decisively.

Understand the objective

We begin by identifying what the client needs to protect, achieve or avoid. Legal strategy must be aligned with the practical and commercial objective.

Assess risk early

We analyse the facts, documents, evidence, procedure, cost and likely outcomes before recommending the next step.

Communicate clearly

Clients receive direct advice, realistic options and regular updates in plain language.

Resolve where possible

Settlement, mediation and negotiated solutions are pursued where they offer a sound outcome and appropriate protection.

Litigate when necessary

Where a dispute requires court or tribunal proceedings, the firm acts decisively and prepares every matter with discipline.
